United We Serve is D.C. United’s signature volunteer service program, where players, partners, front office staff, and fans unite to provide hands-on support for community-based projects and non-profit organizations. Through these efforts, the Black-and-Red family brings people together, lifts up communities, and provides access to essential resources and services.
D.C. United kicked off March by volunteering at Capital Area Food Bank’s Lorton, Virginia location on March 4. Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) plays an integral role in the fight against hunger in the DMV. Through CAFB’s efforts, it provides over 60 million meals to local neighbors annually. Joined by D.C. United's Jordan Farr, Jared Stroud, front office staff, and dedicated Uniters, the team of volunteers packed over 500 meals for senior citizens, which will be distributed across Fairfax, Prince George's, and Montgomery counties, as well as Arlington, VA.
The fight against hunger is about more than just the distribution of meals. Combating food insecurity begins with education and training. CAFB remains steadfast in its commitment to fighting hunger by partnering with organizations that provide the necessary tools and resources to address food insecurity.
Volunteers truly make the work of United We Serve possible. A special thank you to the Uniters who joined us! Want to participate in our next volunteer event?
